Audit

The final step in Evidence-Based Medicine asks you to evaluate yourself.  Self-evaluation of performance in EBM is essentially the process of answering the following questions:

  • Am I becoming more efficient in my searching for the best evidence?
  • Am I critically appraising the evidence for its validity and usefulness?
  • Am I integrating clinical appraisals into my practice?
  • Is what I've learned been translated into better clinical practice?

The following checklist offers more detailed questions to consider when completing the Audit step.
