Films on Demand 

Mobile apps are now available for Apple iOS and Android. Users must sign in with their campus library's username and password in order to access the videos on the app; a Films On Demand subscription is necessary to use the app.

VitalSource Helps 

The program offers free access to tens of thousands of eBooks to faculty and students who may have lost access to course materials as the campus moves to online courses. To access the collection, create an account using your MC email address and following the instructions to search and "check out" up to 7 eBooks, through May 25, 2020.

To receive your complimentary access visit http://tools.ovid.com/remotelearning/ and complete a request form.  There are brief descriptions of these products at the registration site.  Access will be via by your institutional IP range, and a landing page with your selected resources will be provided once the trial is implemented.

Annual Reviews News

Annual Reviews has made their journals available to all (without access control) through Thursday April 30, 2020. On that date, we will assess the need to extend this policy. Wide collection of subjects from BioChemistry, Cell & Developmental Biology to Economics, Sociology and Public Health.

University of Michigan Press

Beginning Friday, March 20th, access restrictions will be removed for all 1,150+ titles in the UMP EBC until the end of April 2020. The UMP EBC contains the Press’s scholarly output published since 2012 as well as new books and older titles as they are digitized.

Internet Options

Open WiFi Statewide

The Mississippi Library Association has compiled a list of locations across Mississippi offering WiFi access from parking lots, hotspots set up by private internet providers and extension offices. Some libraries will require a password to access, but these should be posted on the building or front doors. 

 

Spectrum Internet 

Spectrum Internet is offering free internet and wifi for Students K-12 and College who are being affected by the Corona virus for 60 days.
