Copyright and Fair Use: Licensed Databases

Information on copyright and fair use in the academic setting.

What is Copyright?

Licensed Databases

Obtaining permission is almost never a concern when using articles from databases licensed and paid for by the MC library. Licensed databases provide access to millions of full text journal articles that can be used in Moodle course sites.  A complete list of MC Library databases by title or subject can be found on the library homepage using the DATABASES  link.

Provide Access to Articles from Licensed Databases

Use the persistent link provided for each item in a database to direct students to electronic articles, music, or images. In order to provide off-campus access, MC's proxy URL must be added to the front of the persistent link for some databases. Contact a librarian for help or additional information or call the library Reference Desk at 925-3916.

Detailed instructions may be found 'How do I link directly to the full text of an article found in a library database?'
