Information Literacy Advanced Search and tools (Module 3): Finding Resources Outside of MC

Finding Resources Outside of MC

Occasionally, you may find a resource that will be beneficial to your research that is not found in our online or print resources. Below, you will learn how to request resources through interlibrary loan (ILL). This is done at no cost to you.

ILL Articles

In the previous tutorial, you learned how to access resources on our site that are provided to you PDF, HTML, or through another resource outside of EBSCO. Below is an example of an article that we do not have in our collection. If we do not have the article in our collection, then you may click "Request this item through interlibrary loan".

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is the process in which libraries request materials through other libraries. This is done at no additional cost to you.

This will send you to a form that you can fill out online that goes to a librarian who will then make the request. Typically, articles can be filled within a week.

If you know the name of the article that you are looking for and the record can not be found in our databases, then you may go to our ILL form on the main library page and put in a request. This form can be found under Services.

ILL Books

If you need a print book that we do not have in our collection or the print book that you need is checked out, you can fill out an ILL form on the library webpage.
